What’s new in Forsk?

New

  • Crop the plan first. Click Image to vector, pick a plan, drag a box around the drawing you want and click Confirm crop. Only that area turns into walls, doors and windows, and Assist tidies the lines in a second pass.
  • Wall types, door swings and details. Give a wall a type to see its layers and insulation hatch, and flip a door’s swing. Ask the chat to “make a detail sheet” for callouts, a drawing list and a wall-type schedule with U-value estimates, then export it to PDF or DWG.
  • Edit right in the plan. Box-select doors and windows and drag several at once, or drag one room’s label onto another to swap the rooms. Walls drawn from another wall’s end now meet in a full corner.
  • Turning stairs and new furniture. Add a turning stair: it exports to IFC with proper winders. Furnish a room to get the new furniture with showers, taps and fittings.
  • A cleaner look.

  • Fixes for rooms and undo.

  • Edit every property in the Info panel: a wall’s thickness, length and height, a door or window’s height, hand and swing, a room’s ceiling height, a stair’s riser, going, width and rise, and a piece of furniture’s rotation.
  • Cancel while Image to vector reads a PDF or scan. It stops at once and adds nothing to the Rhino file.
  • Ask the chat to scan a plan without naming a file, and the Image to vector card opens in the Forsk panel.

Fixes

  • A front door drawn as a gap in the outer wall no longer leaves the floor under the walls only, and the floor and roof follow a wall move.

  • Guided Image to vector: one card for a PDF or scan. Pick the file, give the scale, check what Forsk detected, then Generate 3D, with progress shown while it reads.
  • Edit a wall by its face. Select a wall face and drag an end to change its length, or a side to move it or set its thickness. Joined walls, the floor, the roof and rooms follow.
  • Info panel: click a room, door, window, wall, stair or piece of furniture and the top of the Forsk panel shows what it is. Change a door or window’s type, width, sill or head, or a room’s use, right there.
  • Exterior render: look straight at the building from the north, east, south or west at eye height, with materials, soft shadows and the roof. Jump inside is now called Interior render.
  • Export viewport saves an Interior or Exterior render view as a PNG.
  • Print analysis set adds a daylight-factor plan with a legend and each room’s estimated value.
  • The What’s new card steps back through every release you missed.

Fixes

  • The plan PDF shows your furniture again.
  • Daylight labels and room tags keep clear of door swings.
  • Moving a wall on plans whose doors sit in gaps between walls is no longer refused.
  • Moving a wall after Undo and Redo no longer raises the floor.

  • View picker: the cube at the top left of the Forsk panel shows Perspective, Plan or an elevation, zoomed to your selection.
  • Jump inside a room for a view with materials and soft shadows, saved under the room’s name.
  • Analysis set: add the daylight and floor-area estimates to a set and print it as its own PDF with your title block.
  • Buttons respond the moment you click them, and the panel refreshes about 4x faster after an edit.
  • Choice cards apply your pick at once and close on Confirm.

  • The roof can’t be clicked by mistake.
  • Furnish understands room uses in English or Norwegian.
  • The title block no longer prints your Rhino account’s email.
